I thought you would get at least some Yaki present. You get the congratulations screen, but nothing happens afterwards. What's up?Īlso, I have played for the Beryll/Yaki, and have blown up the Asarja in a "what-if" savegame. That implies some genocidal tendencies - and not only about having the war going on for profit. Why do the Yaki want to destroy the Earth?! In the mission where you have to defend the delegates, they proclaim that "Terra will fall". After you're back from the Xenon graveyard, that plot point pretty much stops. Siding with the various factions doesn't bring much. The reward for this mission should have been huge, not another "parking ship".Īlso, what about about it being M/AM based? I have no idea about scripting, but couldn't it have been possible to use that lore somehow? Like the ship being faster if you have the Terran M/AM missiles on board (using them as fuel). Sure, I can understand it why no one wanted to add another Cheatblossom, but fact is the Sprringy is already there. which is really ridiculous, given that the lore alludes that the blossom is based on centuries old design (based on the first ships who explored the gate network - that's the stuff from the X1 intro!) All in all, the Springblossom is still the better ship. Now about the prototype ship you get as a reward: Given the difficulty of the mission, not that great, even though it can carry boarding pods and has lots of weapon slots. Although difficulty is on the verge of being unfair, it doesn't cross the line. It's extremely challenging and puzzle-like, but doable. I mean this constructive, and not as a bash.įirst, the good stuff: The mission where you're stranded in the Xenon sector is great. I thought that since Shady Business was developed alongside with the community, I figured it would different this time, but no, it suffers from many of the same problems Egosoft's own plots have. Let's face it, most Egosoft plots in the X3 games weren't that great and suffered from some heavy dose of faulty logic (Final Fury - let's send these hugely important convoys through a long dark sector full of enemies, instead of equipping them with jump drives).
